Ambassador: China ready for new investment prospects with Rosneft

MOSCOW, Dec 19 (PRIME) -- China is ready to look for new investment opportunities with oil major Rosneft and other Russian companies, Chinese ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanhui told PRIME on Tuesday ahead of the 28th meeting of the heads of the governments of the two countries.

“Chinese companies are ready to search for new investment opportunities together with Rosneft and other companies,” he said.

Beijing is ready to expand cooperation with Russia in the entire energy production chain. The two countries see volatility of the international energy markets and external challenges and risks, but they always adhere to the principles of mutual trust and benefit, the ambassador said.

“China is a large consumer of oil and gas, and Russia is one of the world’s largest exporters of energy. Cooperation of the two countries in the sphere of energy is characterized by great complementarity and great prospects,” Zhang Hanhui said, adding that the third countries create no obstacles for energy trade between Russia and China.
